Miss Harvatt
I am the Late Foundation Teacher at St John's. I joined in September 2008 as an NQT following four years at Leeds Trinity and All Saints. I am really enjoying my first teaching post and that is thanks to the fantastic children, staff and parents at St John's. In the foundation stage unit I am fortunate to work alongside a very experienced team of staff and love that everyday is made different by the wonderful things that children say and do. The things I enjoy the most are sharing stories with the children and seeing them develop so quickly in such a short period of time. I look forward to completing my first school year along with all the children in Late Foundation!
Mrs Ward
I am the Foundation Stage co-ordinator and have responsibility for making sure that the youngest children at St. John's make as much progress as possible upon entry and during their first years with us. This is a very important time in children's development so we work closely with parents and all staff to support the children when we feel they need it most.
I am currently the Special Needs co-ordinator and support staff with children in their class who have individual learning needs; I also liaise with other agencies to organise any extra help that may be needed. This is a role that I have recently taken responsibility for and one that I am really enjoying.
I am also the RE co-ordinator, one that is particularly important in a catholic school; part of my role is to ensure that the ethos statements are shared with each class, are a focus for key stage assemblies, circle time and for the school community to try and live out the statements each week.
Mrs Guy
I do lots of different things at St John's. In the mornings I am an Education Support Assistant in Year 5 working with a child with individual learning needs. For two afternoons each week I work as a Teaching Assistant in Year 2 where I support the children with their work. In both these classes I run a Socially Speaking group with a small selection of children. I am also really lucky to be able to cover P.P.A. time in 3 different classes. I enjoy this so much as I have more responsibility.
Mrs Kelly
I have been a lunchtime supervisor at St John's for the past 5 years. I love my job which involves keeping the children safe and happy at lunchtimes. We now have fitbods on the playground at lunchtime which involves lots of games to keep the children fit and happy.
