Mrs Ward
I am the Foundation Stage co-ordinator and have responsibility for making sure that the youngest children at St. John's make as much progress as possible upon entry and during their first years with us. This is a very important time in children's development so we work closely with parents and all staff to support the children when we feel they need it most. I am currently the Special Needs co-ordinator and support staff with children in their class who have individual learning needs; I also liaise with other agencies to organise any extra help that may be needed. This is a role that I have recently taken responsibility for and one that I am really enjoying. I am also the RE co-ordinator, one that is particularly important in a catholic school; part of my role is to ensure that the ethos statements are shared with each class, are a focus for key stage assemblies, circle time and for the school community to try and live out the statements each week. Mrs Guy I do lots of different things at St John's. In the mornings I am an Education Support Assistant in Year 4 working with a child with individual learning needs. For two afternoons each week I work as a Teaching Assistant in Year 2 where I support the children with their work. In both these classes I run a Socially Speaking group with a small selection of children. I am also really lucky to be able to cover PPA time in 3 different classes. I enjoy this so much as I have more responsibility. Mrs Byrne![]()
My name is Mrs Byrne and I am the School Bursar. I joined St John's in January 2003 and have been kept very busy since! I do lots of different jobs which include looking after the school's money, making sure the staff get paid, welcoming visitors to our school, checking children's attendance, keeping the school's computer system (that has lots of information about our school, pupils and staff) up-to-date, booking coaches for school trips, writing letters to parents, making sure our school is a safe place, and lots more....
The best part of my job is when the children bring the register to my office with a cheery "good morning" because it always gets my day off to a good start! St John's is a very special place and I am very lucky to be able to work here.
Mrs Heaslip
I work at lunchtime with all of the children at St John's from Late Foundation to Year 6. In the afternoons I work in Year 1 as a Support Assistant where we have lots of fun learning in really exciting ways.
Mrs Kelly
I have been a lunchtime supervisor at St John's for the past 5 years. I love my job which involves keeping the children safe and happy at lunchtimes. We now have fitbods on the playground at lunchtime which involves lots of games to keep the children fit and happy.
