What is Investors in Pupils?

 

It is a charter mark designed to develop pupils' responsibility and participation in their own education.  It can empower all pupils, increase motivation and contribute to raising standards throughout Key Stages. It is based around 5 key themes:

 

  • behaviour
  • learning, including target setting
  • attendance and punctuality
  • classroom organisation and management
  • induction of staff and pupils

Pupils begin to understand how schools work Pupils will become involved with their own education Pupils will begin to take responsibility for all aspects of their school life All supporting adults are involved in the process Investors in Pupils builds on best practice which already exists in schools Investors in Pupils provides evidence for Every Child Matters and Ofsted requirements.

We have been involves in the Investors In Pupils scheme for the past four years. Each class has a class target board where their targets and attendance are displayed, the display themes are chosen each year by the pupils.

 

Every class chooses a class target and a reward for when they meet their target!
